Ahh, Friday the 13th, is it? I've heard some wonderful things about this day regarding a number of cultures that now populate this world...

...and seems about fitting for myself, as I am back to normal.

So, it goes without saying.

Mr. Suguru? You can, without question, burn in hell. Nothing personal, you'll have to understand.

But, I digress.

I pose to the lot of you, though, a tiny question.

What would you pay for a secret?

If your answer is money or riches, for the record? You can feel free to just ignore this.

First, die in a fire.

But I expected that, and you probably expect that, so lets skip formalities, yes?

And who's to say anything like that? Can't I just ask a question out of morbid curiosity?

Flowers and kittens and gumdrops.

Hm, perhaps. But then again, curiousity is dangerous. And I'd know, though I don't regret acting on it.

A venus fly trap devouring a kitten... LIKE a gumdrop.

Curiosity killed the cat, so they say~?

The kitty escaping, teaching the fly trap the error of its ways, and both joining together in brotherhood!

Ha ha, how clever. But what could one such as you want for payment? I believe my first born child would have objections.

Only for the fly trap to rot from lack of nourishment. The kitten, depressed, kills itself.

The end.

But enough of that.

Ahhh~ Yes, I suppose he would.

I guess asking for the second would be pushing it.

But they are both redeemed in the after life and spend an eternity in peaceful nirvana.

Completely.

Of course, then came the underworld invasion. Demons are nasty buggers. Never saw it coming.

...

Ah, but what if it was something that posed legitimate danger to both, mmm? Or may~be~ further than that?

But they were repulsed by heaven's might and a new age of illumination began.

That sounds rather paradoxical. Give my children to you to save them?

Oh, come now.

That's just silly.

...

Oh, no, no. Nothing of the sort.

I'm merely wondering what one would pay were that the case, is all.

I'm a very silly man.

... I'd give my life. But not flippantly, Xellos.

Why don't we stop beating around the bush. Aren't you entertained by now?

Entertainment is not the name of the game this time around, Commander.

See, the dilemma I'm faced with is, if I told you... well.

That would be it.

And you'd owe nothing.

We can't have that now, can we~?

Yes, and I could tell you something and you'd just run with it, leaving me with nothing.

Make your move, Xellos, because I'm not budging.

Mmm. Mmhmmm.

Yes, a hard bargainer.

I'll remember that when your poor, romantically challenged granddaughter's psychotically fractured playmate is visited by a rather angry former acquaintance of ours.

... Kagura Tsukasa.

I heard rumors that he appeared in Tetha... but Parrotmon was tight-beaked as well.

What do you want, monster? My family and DATS secrets are out of the question.

I could care less about your clan, Suguru Daimon. Honestly. Though, I hear your wife makes some smashingly good meals.

But, aha, I'm going off on a tangent.

But, besides those two things, you don't exactly have.

Well.

Anything of value, do you? Hm.

...

OH!

And I almost forgot.

It was a demonic fly trap, hence why it feasted on kittens. So inevitably, it was destroyed by heaven's illumination.

Demons are rarely so easily reformed, I'm afraid.

But then, seeing that he was ultimately a good soul, the gods brought him back to life.

And then, the forces of light and darkness all grew to an equal number, after a long, difficult history.

And then balance was achieved.

I can keep this up all day, you realize.

Oh dear, so you can.

Well, I know where I'm beat in that case. But, anyhow.

Don't say I never warned you~
